Inland Sea is an album I created and released in 2012. It was partially funded through Kickstarter. Myself and friend Susan Lee traveled 3,000 nautical miles on lake Superior over 5 months, on my 20 foot sailboat boat “Voyageur”. During the trip I recorded various sounds of the lake, wrote songs, and Susan took many photos. After the journey I spent a couple months creating an album combining the sounds and the music. The album also incorporates sounds of Lake Superior’s ice I recorded (with hydrophones through the ice) in 2009. I created the album jackets out of recycled materials, block printing, and sewing. The result is Inland Sea. Only 100 copies were made.
